Peugeot's 308 GTi races into SA

Portugal, Spain - The Peugeot 308 GTi, Peugeot Sport, is headed for South Africa during the second half of 2016.

The new 308 GTi is powered by a 1.6 litre THP S&S petrol available in two versions (184 kW/200kW) with Torsen limited-slip differential, chassis tuning and Peugeot's i-Cockpit.

0 to 100km/h in six seconds

Fuel consumption is rated at a claimed 6.0litres/100km with emissions of 139g/km.

Since the launch of the 205 GTi, the automaker has sold its sportier models to more than 800 000 customers; the 309 GTi, the 405 Mi16, the 306 S16… the 208 GTi, the RCZ R.

It's 1.6 unit enables it to sprint to 100km/h in six seconds.

The new hot hatch is fitted with 19" Carbone alloys shod with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tyres. It has 380mm discs at the front with red calipers and 268mm counterparts at the rear.

Compared to the outgoing version it sits 11mm lower and has a redesigned body with LEDs, black radiator grille, new bumper, air intakes and a chequered-pattern paintjob.
