In September 2013 Wheels24 editor LES STEPHENSON attended the South African launch of Porsche’s latest Panamera range. Now, a month later, the automaker has revealed the price of the next addition to its local family ahead of the official debut at the 2013 Tokyo auto show – it's the Panamera Turbo S.

0-100KM/H IN 3.8 SECONDS
The Panamera Turbo S will reach South Africa in 2014 (though in standard guise only) and will go on sale for R2 380 000 with a three-year DrivePlan or R2 430 000 if you opt for the five-year plan.
For that staggering amount (at least for some) you're getting a 4.8-litre twin-turbo V8 capable of 420kW/750Nm (800Nm available with overboost). Its twin-turbo V8 engine, mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch, rockets the Turbo S from 0-100km/h in 3.8sec and on to its top speed of 307km/h.
Average fuel consumption is rated at a claimed 10.25 litres/100km, 11% less from the previous model.
The Turbo S comes with traction control, all-wheel drive and a Sport Chrono handling package. Drivers can switch through three driving modes - Comfort, Sport and Sport Plus. The Turbo S has 20" 911 Turbo alloys.
The Porsche Panamera Turbo S will have its global debut at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show (November 22 – December 1).
