SANT'AGATA BOLOGNESE, Italy – Lamborghini announced a new Gallardo ahead of its official debut at the 2013 Frankfurt auto show - the all-wheel-drive LP 570-4 Squadra Corse.
The street-legal super car is nearly identical to the LP 570-4 Super Trofeo single-series race car and according to the Italian automaker it “brings race track emotion directly to the road.”

The Squadra Corse is powered by the same V10 5.0 engine used in the Super Trofeo. It also benefits from all-wheel-drive and an "e-gear" six-speed transmission with paddle shifts.
Lamborghini quotes a 0-100km/h sprint of 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 320km/h.
The Squadra Corse moniker refers to the automaker’s new motorsport department within Automobili Lamborghini. It manages all motorsport activities for the automaker such as GT3 and the Lamborghini Super Trofeo championships.
RACE CAR INSPIRATION
The Squadra Corse has the same spoiler as its race car sibling as well as a removable engine hood with quick-release system. Both the spoiler and bonnet are made from carbon-composite materials as are a host of other components on the Squadra Corse.
Exterior upgrades include a decal strip mimicking the Italian flag, black air intakes, rear diffuser and its sport’s 19” alloys. The brake calipers are available in red, black or yellow, and there's a choice of white, yellow, red or grey paintwork.
More details will be revealed when the Squadra Corse is officially unveiled at the 2013 Frankfurt International Motor Show in September. Lambhorghini will reveal its next-generation Gallardo in 2014.
