New look A4 convertible now in South Africa
New look A4 convertible now in South Africa

Previously, only one A4 Cabriolet model was offered in South Africa and now for the first time, a four-cylinder convertible will be on offer too as the award winning 2.0T FSI engine is also available for the A4 cabrio.

Visually, the new A4 Cabriolet is instantly recognisable thanks to the single-frame grille that now typifies the brand.

The rear end is distinguished by newly designed lights of clear-glass appearance which also emphasise the Cabriolet's premium status. A new rear diffuser underscores the car's sports character.

The 2.0T FSI engine offers 147 kW of power linked to 280 Nm of torque available from only 1 800 r/min.

This model comes as standard with a six-speed manual gearbox with the multitronic CVT gearbox available as an option. Both these models are available in front-wheel drive only.

In manual form, the A4 2.0T FSI accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 8 seconds with a top speed of 233 km/h.

In V6 FSI form, the A4 Cabriolet offers 188 kW of power and 330 Nm of torque available from 3 250 r/min.

The manual version accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 6.8 sec while the six-speed tiptronic model does the same in 7.4 seconds. Top speed for both models is electronically limited to 250 km/h.

Quattro all-wheel drive is available exclusively with the 3.2 FSI engine.

The set-up of the dynamic suspension system, with four-link front and self-tracking trapezoidal-link rear suspension, has been completely modified and numerous new components added.

There is also a new steering setup which results in better precision.

Equipment and trim

Standard features on all A4 Cabriolet models include an electrically operated roof, automatic climate control with separate temperature controls for driver and front passenger, remote central locking, servotronic power steering, electrically operated windows and side mirrors, leather upholstery, CD-based sound system and 17-inch alloy wheels.

Also standard are a rain and light sensor, three-spoke multi-function sports steering wheel and front sports seats.

There are almost unlimited possibilities for combining optional extras. As well as optional xenon headlights, which are combined as standard with daytime running lights, the new Audi A4 Cabriolet can be ordered for the first time with dynamic cornering lights.

In the field of infotainment, the DVD navigation system plus with MMI operating logic sets the standard in terms of user guidance and ergonomics.

In addition, the S line range from quattro GmbH contains numerous other visual styling features for making every Audi A4 Cabriolet even more sporty and personal. Additional alloy wheel versions of up to 18 inches in size are available from quattro GmbH at extra cost.
