Cars in the Park show heats up

accreditation
Few people realise what effort goes into organising what must be one of the most successful one-day motorcar events in South Africa.

This is the time of the year when the organising of the annual Cars-in-the-Park event goes into top gear.

Hundreds of potential exhibitors, car clubs and organisations are getting ready to present the annual trip down memory lane where cars worth millions will be exhibited for all enthusiasts to enjoy.

Last year marked the first time Cars-in-the-Park moved from its traditional venue to the Zwartkops Raceway southwest of Pretoria. There were much more space, lots more parking, more entrances and exits, but not even the organisers could, in their wildest dreams, predict the incredible turnout of people.

Footstalls, memorabilia, hobby stands, and every other person selling did a fantastic trade and in many instances were sold out within hours. Almost 20 000 people had a day filled with fun, enjoying the best looking and most expensive exhibition of collector and vintage cars in South Africa.

This year Cars-in-the-Park will take place on Sunday 5th August and to accommodate an even larger crowd than last year, the organisers will ensure that there will be a much improved traffic flow, and better organised parking facilities.

Visitors will be able to purchase tickets beforehand and there will even be a VIP 'pre-paid parking area' for those who prefer a bit more comfort and convenience. More details about this and other great features will be announced soon.

All car exhibition and related enquiries can be made from Frans du Toit on 082 893 9342, while potential exhibitors of other products can obtain information regarding stands from leon@rallystar.co.za or phone 012 803 5522 between 9h00 - 13h00; Bettie on 0126543052 or Melissa on 0834196676.
