Wacky submarine car

accreditation
Rinspeed, the Swiss tuner known for creating quirky cars, has created what it bills the world's first diving car with zero-emission power.

It could be easily mistake mistaken for something that escaped off the set of the latest James Bond film, but this sQuba concept vehicle is also completely amphibious.

Not just able to drive on roads, at a push of a button the sQuba is able to take to the water and dive to a depth of up to 10 metres.

The driver and passenger are supplied with fresh breathing air via a self-contained on-board system. The vehicle emits zero emissions.

While on terra firma, an electric motor drives the rear wheels.

Propulsion on the water is the duty of two propellers in the stern, while two jet drives in the bow propel the vehicle under water.

The lightweight body uses components constructed from Carbon Nano Tubes.

sQuba will make its global debut at the March Geneva Motor Show, but like its predecessors, notably eXasis, Senso and Splash, is expected to remain a once-off concept.
