Meet the sizzling Porsche 911 Turbo

This posh Porsche's twin-turbo 3.6-litre boxer engine now pumps out 353kW at 6 000 r/min and peak torque is 620 Nm, which is available between 1 950 and 5 000 r/min.

The vehicle's flexibility can be enhanced even further with the optional "Sport Chrono Package Turbo". Here the driver selects the "sports button" adjacent to the gear lever to activate a short-time "overboost" at full throttle.

This increases boost pressure in the mid speed range by 0.2 bar for up to ten seconds; torque rises by 60 to 680 Nm.

With a standard six-speed manual gearbox, the '07 Turbo sprints from zero to 60 in 3.7 seconds. Acceleration is actually quicker with the optional Tiptronic S five-speed automatic; 0-60 is achieved in only 3.4 seconds. Top speed with either gearbox is 193 mph.

The 911 Turbo's all-wheel-drive system has been redesigned and it now features a new electronically controlled multi-disc clutch.

Porsche has also increased the car's brake disc diameter, and a ceramic-composite brake system is available as an extra-cost option.
