This Jaguar SUV will be aimed at the BMW X5, Mercedes M-Class and upcoming Audi Q7. However, it will only go on sale in 2005 and will share its underpinnings with that of the next generation Ford Mondeo and Volvo S80.
Furthermore it will feature the next Freelander's four-wheel-drive setup and will get the Discovery's Terrain Response system and air-suspension too.
Jaguar will include 3-litre V6 and 4.4-litre V8 in the SUV's engine line-up, while there will be a 2.7-litre V6 turbo diesel as well. The firm's six-speed auto transmission will feed power to all four wheels.
Of course a Jag SUV will be a showcase of luxurious trim and it will come with all the bells and whistles. It will offer ample space for five passengers and a big load area too.
Practical features will include a split tailgate and a two-level boot floor.
