Durban Motor Show Time!

Held at the Durban Exhibition Centre in Walnut Road, Durban, the Standard Bank-sponsored show opens from 10 am to 9 pm each day, and tickets will cost R40 for adults and R10 for children under 12.

The show opens to the public at 1 pm on Friday March 17 and goes on until 9 pm on March 21.

New models will be launched at the show by Fiat, Nissan, Subaru, Hyundai, Toyota, Ford Motor Company, Peugeot, Tata and Lamborghini.

    In addition 4x4 personality Kingsley Holgate will attend the show in person during the course of the five days to promote his current African Rainbow One Net One Life Campaign.

    He can be found at a mock campsite put together by Jenny Soons of Cooper Tyres.

    There will be a King of Custom competition, with entries from as far a field as Despatch and Gauteng. The overall winner will get a trip to the SEMA (Speciality Equipment Market Association) show in Las Vegas.

    You can climb aboard either a Nissan 350Z for a super interactive driving experiences or get into an off-roader at the Nissan Mobile 4X4 Track.

    And there are daily performances from Brian Capper of Extreme Motorcycle Exhibitions at 11am and 5pm, while Buell American Motorcycle Stunt Team performs twice daily at 2pm and 6pm.

    For kids there's a PlayStage Rig with gaming consoles.

  • Saturday March 18: Marque (one-make) Car Club Display
  • Sunday March 19: Sound competition sponsored by Jays Auto Care; Show 'n Shine Competition sponsored by Slik Cars
  • Tuesday March 21: Motor sport and performance vehicle display; Harley-Davidson ride-in
