Most-muscle E-Class out from AMG

AFFALTERBACH, Germany - The new Mercedes E 63 AMG has been given a major performance boost with the top-of-the-range E 63 AMG S. With 436kW and 800Nm of torque, the E 63 AMG S is the most powerful vehicle in the E-Class range and one of the fastest E-Class models yet.

And yes, the monstercar will be launched in South Africa in June 2014.

With an AMG rear limited-slip differential lock as standard, the new E 63 AMG S Model benefits from a 21kW and 80Nm increase over the standard E 63 AMG and is 0.1sec faster to 100km/h at 4.1 for the sedan and 4.2 for the estate version.

The combined fuel consumption for the E 63 AMG S Model Saloon is 28.5 mpg, with emissions of 232g/km of CO2, and the Estate achieves 28.3 combined mpg, with CO2 emissions of 234g/km – the same as the standard E 63 AMG Estate.

The unique interior includes black nappa leather upholstery with grey contrast stitching, silver seat belts, an AMG emblem in the head restrants, an electric rear roller blind for the sedan, AMG door sills with white LED illumination and an AMG instrument cluster with red applications and S Model badging.

The E 63 AMG S Model Saloon is priced from £83 740 (abour R1.72-million) on the road in the UK, the Estate from £85 530 (R1.97-million), available from June 2013 production.
