ROSSLYN, South Africa - Nissan South Africa launches its new Patrol Pick-up  sporting improved design, a new diesel engine and enhanced features.

The patrol is available in single-cab guise and powered by a turbocharged 110kW/371Nm 3.0DTi mated to a five-speed manual. The 4x4 system offers three driving modes - high and low range and four-wheel drive.

Fuel consumption is rated at a claimed 10.9-litres/100km and with two fuel tanks, totalling 175 litres, it has a range of over 1600km. Towing capacity is 2500kg.

Nissan product manager, Terry Mashoko, said: "The new Nissan Patrol Pick-up is an exciting addition to the Nissan LCV stable. The Patrol nameplate carries a rich heritage the world over and in South Africa has come to signify the toughest bakkie for the most demanding applications."

INSIDE

The Patrol bakkie is equipped with aircon, power steering, adjustable steering-wheel, power windows and warning buzzers for open doors and keys left in the ignition. In terms of safety it has dual-airbags, three-point safety belts, anti-lock braking system with the ventilated front disc brakes.

The Nissan Patrol Pick-up is sold with a three-year/100 000km warranty with service intervals of 15 000km.
