VERY LIMITED: The IS250C Limited Edition is specced to the rooflining, giving it, what Lexus calls, "the very best specification level available in the (local) convertible market".

Lexus goes luxurious with the IS250C Limited Edition – a high-spec model of its stunning four-seater convertible. Numbers, however, are limited to 40 units.

The special convertible is available in White Pearl, Lapis Lazuli (a striking royal blue) and Starlight Black and interiors are finished in tan leather and maple veneer.

Further distinctions from the regular IS250C are the larger 18" alloy rims, high-intensity discharge headlights with automatic levelling and washers, LED daytime running lights, auto-retractable external mirrors with memory function and rain-sensing wipers.

A Mark Levinson digital surround-sound system and a 40Gb hard-disk navigation system are listed as standard equipment, too.

As with the regular IS250C, power comes from a 2.5-litre V6 producing 153kW at 6400rpm and 252Nm at 4800rpm. The engine is mated to a six-speed auto transmission with steering-wheel paddle shifts and Lexus SA quotes a top speed of 210km/h.

BESPOKE TRIM: Limited Edition models receive special tan leather upholstery with bird's-eye maple wood veneer trim for their interiors.

Lexus SA also claims a combined fuel consumption of 9.3 litres per 100 km and a 219 g/km CO2 emissions rating.

The three-part aluminium folding hardtop remains unchanged.

The 40 IS250C Limited Editions each cost R618 100. The price includes a four-year or 100 000km maintenance plan and a four-year or 100 000km warranty.
