The Huracan sports a hybrid chassis consisting of carbon fibre and aluminum elements enabling it to achieve a weight of 1422kg.

POWER

Powering the model is a new 5.2-litre V10 capable of 448kW/610HP (hence the LP 610-4 moniker) at 8250rpm and a maximum torque of 560Nm at 6500rpm. The engine is mated to a new seven-speed dual clutch‘‘Lamborghini Doppia Frizione’’ (LDF) and four-wheel drive.

It sprints from 0 - 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds and to 200km/h in 9.9 seconds. Top speed is rated at 325km/h. Fuel consumption is rated at 12.5-liters/100km with emissions of 290g/km.

Three driving modes are on offer - Strada, Sport and Corsa.

The Huracan will be produced at the Automobili Lamborghini headquarters in Sant’Agata Bolognese, Italy. The model is expected to be launched in 2014.

WHAT’S IN A NAME?

Like the Gallardo and most Lamborghini models, the new model derives its name from the world of bullfighting.

According to the automaker: "The fighting bull Huracan of the Spanish Conte de la Patilla breed was known for his outstanding courage and strong sense of attack. He fought in Alicante in August 1879, showing his unrelenting character and remaining defiant and invincible, thus entering into the legend of fighting bulls’ history."
