Hyundai wagon for Geneva

Hyundai has revealed its new i30 wagon ahead of its world debut at the 2012 Geneva auto show. The wagon is the second member of the new generation i30 family, following the reveal of the latest hatchback at the 2011 Frankfurt auto show.

The new model shares engines and design elements from its hatchback sibling, but has a longer body to create a significant increase in load space.

The overall length has increased by 185mm, over the five-door hatchback, to 4485mm.

EXTRA SPACE

Compared to the hatchback, the wagon expands its boot space from 378-litres to 528-litres and with the rear passenger seats folded down, the volume increases to 1642-litres.

Allan Rushforth, senior vice president Hyundai Europe, said: “The new generation i30 has been widely praised for its style, quality, and value. Our new wagon offers all of those attributes plus even greater load-carrying capacity.

"We expect it to appeal strongly to those looking for stylish and flexible practicality, especially active families,” said Rushforth.

The i30 wagon features Hyundai’s hexagon-shaped grille and jewel-like headlamps at the front. The roofline extends rearwards over the boot and further enhances the wagon’s dynamic appearance are pronounced lines across the flanks.
