Godzilla facelifted: New GT-R in SA!

ROSSLYN, South Africa – It’s here! Nissan’s updated versions of the GT-R supercar has arrived in South Africa with a host of upgrades to make anyone smile.

Nissan said its evolved GT-R  "maintains its reputation for being a bedroom wall poster and one of the fastest production vehicles yet.”

Under the bonnet lies a twin-turbocharged 397kW/628Nm 3.8-litre V6 petrol, mated to a six-speed auto dual-clutch transmission. The engine rockets the GT-R from 0-100km/h in 2.9 seconds to a top speed of 315km/h.

Nissan said mechanical updates for the 2014 includes chassis and suspension tweaks: "These include a fine-tuned suspension to load fluctuation between the wheels and allowing for better stability and more consistent grip; optimised electronic control of the shock absorber valves and modified front stabiliser spring rates.

The suspension has been altered to improve its road-holding and traction while a a reduction in NVH (noise, vibration and harshness) allows for a more comfortable ride.

VISUAL APPEAL

In terms of styling, there are new multi-LEDs with a distinct new lighting motif. There’s also an adaptive front lighting system (AFS) which allows headlights to adjust to the angle of the lighting beam according to the speed of the vehicle.

A new paint colour, called Gold Flake Red Pearl, featuring microscopic gold-tinted glass flakes.

Inside there’s a new red interior colour scheme available - for a 'cool' R51 000, while the semi-aniline leather seats are embellished with stitched accents. The infotainment and satnav have been upgraded with Nissan's latest in-car entertainment and GPS technology.

Customers can replace the standard boot lid with an optional rear wing and carbon-fibred boot lid.

The standard three-year or 100 000km warranty can be extended to five-years or 100 000km. A three-year or 50 000km service plan is also included.
