Priced from only R207 900 (2.4-litre petrol 4x2 Lux), the Steed 5 represents one of the best value offerings on the local market, irrespective of the derivative being considered, according to the automaker.
DOUBLE CAB
All Steed 5 Double-Cab models have 16” wheels, wheelarch extensions, front and rear fog lights and chrome door handles and exterior mirrors. It features a double-insulated load box with several tie-down hooks and a payload rating of more than a tonne. A cab protector is fitted to all models, along with outer tie-down hooks and a rear step bumper.
Comfort treats include power steering, remote audio controls, radio/CD/MP3 player with USB input, aircon, electric windows and mirrors, height-adjustable steering wheel and leather seats. Safety goodies include dual front airbags, anti-lock brake system with electronic brake-pressure distribution, along with remote central locking and an immobiliser.
The double cab range has three engine offerings including a 100kW/200Nm 2.4-litre petrol, 80kW/300Nm 2.5-litre TCI turbodiesel and the range-topping 110kW/310Nm two-litre VGT turbodiesel. Five-speed manual gearboxes with low-range on 4x4 models are fitted to the 2.4 petrol and 2.5 TCI models, while the 2.0 VGT has a six-speed manual transmission.
SINGLE CAB
Mirroring the specification levels of the Double Cab models, the Steed 5 Single Cab is also offered in the Lux grade, but offers individual bucket seats. It also has the dame engine line-up as the double cab.
The double-insulated load bay has a payload rating of more than 1.2 tonnes. Furthermore, measuring 2.08m x 1.5m x 46cm, the load bay can accommodate big objects.
The Steed 5 line-up is available through GWM’s extensive network of 70 nationwide dealers. All Steed 5 bakkies has a three-year or 100 000km warranty and a two-year 24-hour roadside assistance.
