GWM has launched a new contender for the local budget sedan segment with its C30, revealed at the 2013 Jozi auto show, arriving in South Africa.

The C30 is the second GWM sedan to reach South Africa, following the introduction of the C50.
It's also one of the most popular sedans in China with GWM reportedly selling 10 000 units each month.
Brand manager Hannes Oosthuizen explains: "Although the C30 fits into the compact sedan segment, its dimensions suggest otherwise.
"The C30 rides on a stretched (2.6m) wheelbase that endows it with one of the most spacious cabins in its class, as well as one of the largest boots, capable of swallowing 475-litres worth of luggage."
SIX COLOURS
The C30 is powered by a 71.3kW/138Nm 1.5-litre VVT-I petrol, used in the C10 and C20R hatchbacks, mated to a five-speed manual. Fuel consumption is rated at 7.3-litre/100km.
In terms of design its benefits from 15” alloys, colour-coded side mirrors with integrated indicators. The C30 is offered in six colours - white, silver, grey, red, blue and black.
FOLDING SEATS
Inside it boasts, dark cloth trim, black finishes, chromed details for the instrumentation and silver trim on the centre console. The C30 sedan is equipped with aircon, power steering and windows (front and rear), power-adjustable side-mirrors, radio/CD/MP3 audio system with USB and Bluetooth connectivity.
Boot space is rated at 475 litres, which can be increased by folding the rear seats.

In terms of safety it boasts an anti-lock braking system with electronic brake-force distribution, fog light, immobiliser, remote central locking, child-seat mountings and height-adjustable front seatbelts.
The C30 achieved a maximum five-star rating from C-NCAP crash testing in China (the Chinese version of the Euro New Car Assessment Programme).
The C30 sedan takes on the likes of the Nissan Almera, Honda Ballade, Hyundai Accent and Volkswagen Vivo sedan.
