The Dynamique’s upgrade consists of electronic stability control, diode daytime running lights, front and rear parking distance control, lumbar setting on the driver’s seat and an 18cm touch screen on the central console.
'DELUXE DESIGN'
The Expression has dual-zone aircon, Bluetooth radio, MP3-compatible CD player, steering wheel controls, cruise control and rear parking distance control. It also has automatic windscreen wipers, front and rear curtain airbags, front fog lights and hands-free entry/start/lock.
Fabien Payzan of Renault SA said: “The Fluence is a premium sedan in terms of its deluxe design, up-to-the-minute features and solid performance. While all the assets and stand-out features that made predecessor models so successful have been retained, the new cars have a new brand identity.
“The latest Fluence is not just eye candy,” insists Payzan. “It comes packed with the latest technology as well as class-leading equipment levels that will make every journey safe, secure and a pleasure for drivers and passengers.”
The two-litre 16V engine under the bonnet of the Dynamique produces 103kW/195Nm. With its six-speed manual gearbox, it has a standing start sprint time of 9.9 seconds to 100km/h and top speed of 200km/h and returns a combined cycle consumption of 7.9 litres/100km.
FIVE-YEAR WARRANTY
The 1.6 Expression has a power output of 82kW/151Nm. The engine is mated to a five-speed manual transmission and the car can accelerate to 100km/h in 11.5 seconds and reach 185km/h. It consumes 6.8 litres/100km in the combined cycle with a corresponding CO2 emissions rating of 155 g/km.
Both variants have anti-lock brakes, emergency brake assistance and electronic brakeforce distribution and electronic stability control is standard on the Dynamique. There are front, side and curtain airbags for the driver and passengers.
The Fluence comes with Renault’s standard five-year or 150 000km mechanical warranty; there is also a five-year or 90 000km service plan, roadside assistance plan for the duration of the warranty, fixed-price servicing (15 000km intervals) and guaranteed parts availability - or a mobility solution until parts become available.
