Ford SA will introduce a more powerful, limited edition of its stylish Fiesta in November. Only 75 cars will be sold.

The Ford Fiesta Magnet is expected to be the last hurrah for the hatchback in its current guise; a face-lifted Fiesta will be in South African showrooms in the first quarter of 2013.
MORE POWER, SPORTS SUSPENSION
The Magnet, Ford says, attracts its own brand of attention with its punchier performance and sports suspension, extra interior and exterior style details and updated, in-car connectivity.
The special Fiesta is powered by a 1.6-litre Duratec petrol engine well known to the Fiesta range, although it’s been tweaked to deliver 99kW and 160Nm (up from the standard 88kW/152Nm). As for its appearance, the Magnet shows body-coloured front and rear bumpers, skirts, a black tail spoiler, a special grille surround, halogen projector headlights with black surrounds and tinted glass for the rear and rear side windows. It also rides on black 17” alloys.
The cabin gets a high-end treatment in the form of black leather sport seats with silver stitching (with heating for the front pair), a leather-wrapped steering wheel (also with silver stitches), metal pedal caps and special Magnet mats.
Standard equipment includes heatable powerc mirrors, power windows, cruise control, Bluetooth with voice control and steering-wheel controls for the audio and cruise control functions.
SAFE AND SECURE
Additional convenience features include rain-sensing wipers, auto-dimming rearview mirror and automatic headlights. Safety features include electronic stability control with anti-lock brakes and traction control, and seven air bags.
The Magnet, as with all Fiestas in the Ford SA stable, is sold with a four-year or 120 000km warranty and four-year or 60 000km service plan. Service intervals 20 000km.
There's also three years of roadside assistance and a five-year no-rust-through warranty.
Ford’s Fiesta Magnet will cost R229 000. The most expensive standard Fiesta is the 1.6 Titanium at R226 000.
