Also making its debut at AMI is the CC R-Line that features a sporty body kit for the four-door coupe recently launched in South Africa. The R-Line’s special bodywork includes a redesigned front bumper, exclusive alloy rim designs, customised interior trim and chromed cabin and bodywork elements.

R-Line badging is shown on the door sill plates, the leather sports steering wheel and on the radiator grille.

COMING TO SA?

The sporty turn continues with the Scirocco GTS showing striking bodywork inspired by car design of the 1970's as VolkVW swagen celebrates 30 years since the first Scirocco rolled off the production line.

Since that model was typified by its athletic look, the new GTS, with 155kW on tap, continues the trend with coloured bonnet stripes, a tail spoiler, red brake callipers and bespoke front and rear bumpers. A sporty diffuser, 18” Thunder alloys with black trim and GTS badges complete the look, while this Scirocco GTS also celebrates the return of the golfball gear shifter.

The new Beetle Fender Edition can be ordered in Europe with a sound system from guitar and amplifier makers Fender.

The 400W production car is making its world premiere at AMI and can be ordered in two colours: Black Uni and Deep Black Pearl Effect, chosen to best show the Fender Edition’s many chromed details although the interior is said to also be quite refined with its sports seats and a Fender audio system with a USB interface.

The final unveiling is the CrossPolo “Urban White” special edition finished in Oryx White Mother of Pearl Effect and finished in 17” Budapest alloy rims in either contrasting black or matching white.

Additional bodywork features include black roof-rails and external mirrors and tinted rear windows; the cabin is finished in contrasting black and white.

However, while any of these special Volkswagens may strike your fancy, VW SA will not be bringing them in.
