  • Starting with the A4 range, customers can choose an upgraded 3.0-litre TDI engine with 171 kW on tap. This raises the output by 21 kW while torque remains at an impressive 450 Nm available from 1 400 r/min.

Overall performance benefits as a result with the standing start to 100 km/h run now seen to in only 6.8 seconds for the manual sedan. Yet, despite the increase in performance, fuel consumption in the combined cycle is only 7.6 litres per 100 km.

This engine will be available in both sedan and Avant body styles and exclusively with quattro all-wheel drive. A choice of six-speed manual or six-speed tiptronic is available on the sedan while the Avant is only available with a six-speed tiptronic.

Pricing for the A4 3.0 TDI quattro sedan manual is R359 000 while the tiptronic retails for R372 000. The 3.0TDI Avant quattro tiptronic sells for R388 000.

Moving to the A6 range, three new engines are available. This includes the 3.0-litre TDI engine which has its power increased from 165 kW to 171 kW. Torque remains at 450 Nm.

This engine is also exclusively available with quattro all-wheel drive and a six-speed tiptronic gearbox in both sedan and Avant body styles. Pricing for the A6 3.0 TDI sedan is R469 000 while the Avant retails for R485 000.

Finally, the top model in the A6 range benefits from a new V8 engine as well. The 4.2-litre V8 remains the same in terms of size, but now features FSI direct injection technology.

This sees the power output increase from an already impressive 246 kW to 257 kW at 6 800 r/min. Torque rises from 420 Nm to 440 at 3 500 r/min. Quattro permanent all-wheel drive is standard.

The additional power and torque allows the A6 4.2 FSI to sprint from 0-100 km/h in 5.9 seconds with top-speed electronically limited to 250 km/h. Fuel consumption in the combined cycle remains at 10.8 litres per 100 km.

The A6 4.2 FSI quattro tiptronic is priced at R575 000.

At the very top of the Audi food chain is the A8 range which also benefits from a new V8 engine. As with the A6 4.2 FSI, the A8 4.2 is now also available with this direct injection power plant.

Power and torque output mirrors that of the A6 4.2 FSI at 257 kW at 6 800 r/min with torque of 440 Nm at 3 500 r/min. quattro all-wheel drive and a six-speed tiptronic gearbox comfortably puts the power onto the road.

With this new 4.2 FSI engine, the A8 can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 6,1 seconds with a top-speed limited to 250 km/h.

Pricing for the A8 4.2 FSI quattro tiptronic is R769 000.
