There ain’t no muscle like Detroit muscle and British fans of the iconic cars that ruled American roads throughout the 1960's can now place orders for the modern incarnation of one of the greatest muscle cars of all time - Chevrolet's Camaro.

The Camaro, priced at £35 000 (R423 500) for the Coupe and £40 000 (R484 000) for the soft-top convertible, exudes all of the attributes that made the original muscle cars famous - great performance, stunning looks and incredible value for money.

Chevrolet is also offering, for a limited period, a 2012 45th anniversary Camaro finished in striking "carbon flash" black with red and silver anniversary stripes, dark silver 20" alloy rims, a 45th anniversary leather interior with red, white and blue stitching and a once-off white-backed instrument panel.

It’s priced at £36 500 (R441 650) for the coupe, or £41 500 (R502 150) for the convertible.

The cars come with a six-speed manual gearbox or, for a £1500 premium, a six-speed auto.

Power comes from a 6.2-litre V8 capable of 324kW (303kW for the auto) and 0-100 in 5.2sec (auto convertible 5.6). All Camaros have an electronically limited top speed of 250km/h.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY: Butch in black - this is the 45th Anniversary edition of the iconic Chevrolet Camaro.

The visibility out of the camaro's are really poor. I won't buy one solely fot that reason.
