Citroen’s DS3 has, the automaker says, been wildly successful in South Africa and now local DS fans can look forward to an even hotter version of the DS4 sold here. A concept of the DS4 Racing will be unveiled at the 2012 Geneva auto show.
As with the DS3 Racing, launched here in 2011, Citroën Racing’s engineers have taken their winning World Rally championship expertise to turn out this hot new concept.
The DS4 Racing concept has a 1.6 turbo petrol engine developed by Citroen Racing to produce 191kW.
LOWER, WIDER, LIGHTER
Citroën Racing’s engineers have modified the chassis and running gear. The chassis is lower by 35mm and the track wider by 55mm at the front and 75mm at the rear.
Keeping the weight down, new carbon fibre components include an air diffuser, front splitter and wheel arch extensions.
The braking system uses fixed four-piston calipers at the front on 380mm diameter discs. The concept runs on special DS4 Racing 19” wheels.
