CAPE TOWN - Citroen has added a third derivative to its local C4 Picasso range - a new flagship turbo petrol-powered variant.
The flagship sports a new six-speed auto linked to a e-THP 1.6-litre four-cylinder turbo engine capable of 121kW/240Nm of torque. The new model is capable of reaching 100km/h in 9.3 secs and a top speed of 200km/h.
The automaker says its new flagship C4 Picasso is a "result of customer feedback" and that the newcomer is offered in Intensive specification only.
LONG LIST OF SAFETY FEATURES
Fuel consumption is rated at a claimed 5.6 litres/100km with emissions of 130g/km.
In terms of safety the Intensive model is equipped with six air bags, auto headlights, auto wipers, tyre pressure monitoring, anti-lock braking system, electronic brake force distribution, emergency braking assistance, electronic stability control, hill assist, a reversing camera and satnav.
It has auto blind-spot monitoring and lane departure warning. The infotainment system includes Bluetooth connectivity and an 8GB hard drive.
REALIGNMENT OF RANGE
The addition of the new e-THP 121kW auto coincides with a realignment of the range, which now comprises of three models – two powered by 85kW e-HDi Turbodiesels and new 121kW turbo petrol.
The C4 Picasso e-HDI Seduction is equipped with a 85kW/270Nm 1.6-litre turbodiesel mated to a six-speed manual. The e-HDI Intensive is powered by a the same turbodiesel. The Seduction version has 16" alloy rims while the Intensive gains 17" alloys.

The Citroen C4 Picasso is sold with a three-year or 100 000km warranty and a five-year r 100 000km service plan. There is an option to upgrade to the FreeDrive five-year or 100 000km warranty. Services intervals are 20 000km for the petrol version and 15 000km for the diesels.
