2014-04-11 15:06

BEIJING, China - Porsche will debut its new Boxster GTS and Cayman GTS at the 2014 China auto show on April 20 in Beijing.

The duo are the most powerful and fastest mid-engine sports cars from Porsche yet, courtesy of new engines and improved chassis.

AVAILABLE TO ORDER IN SA

Porsche South Africa says local customers can order both Boxster GTS and Cayman GTS at any of the automaker’s dealers here in SA and both models will launch simultaneously later in June/July 2014.

Powering the GTS models is a six-cylinder boxer engine derived from the 3.4-litre units used in the Boxster S and Cayman S. The engines have been tuned to deliver an additional 11kW -  Boxster GTS produces 246kW, Cayman GTS delivers 250kW.

When mated to the optional Porsche Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK) gearbox and Sport Plus mode, the Boxster GTS sprints to 100km/h in 4.7sec, whereas the Cayman GTS is a tenth of a second faster.

Porsche will debut three new products for the Chinese market - 919 Hybrid, 911 RSR and 918 Spyder Hybrid.

Time for Porche to turbo charged these engines for more power and torque, a golf will drop these things robot to robot. Yeah yeah, there are some dudes that buy these things for pure driving experience, but most buy them for image and the 911 is just to expensive these days.
