Peugeot has launched its revised 207 line-up in South Africa, which boasts a fresh look and now comes with a standard service plan across the range.

The interior has also been updated while the list of standard specifications has been modified too. Also, a more powerful 1.4-litre engine has been added to the line-up.

In addition, the model nomenclature has been adapted, and now refers to Urban, Active and Dynamic models, rather than the previous XL, XR+ and XS designations.

The revised 207 range still offers three-door and five-door hatchback versions, as well as the Coupe Cabriolet, with a choice of petrol and turbodiesel engines.

In terms of styling updated the biggest change is reserved for the 207's nose which gets a substantially revised grille, with detail changes dependent on individual models. The fog lights, where applicable, have also been repositioned.

The rear design is highlighted by new, high-tech tail lights incorporating LED technology.

The comprehensive standard equipment list of the 207 Dynamic models now includes Electronic Stability Program (ESP) as standard, as well as an electro-chromatic rear-view mirror.

Tinted glass, electric windows front and rear, a USB port linked to the sound system, and integrated Bluetooth connectivity, are also standard.

The new 1.4-litre unit produces a maximum output of 54 kW at 5 400 r/min, while the torque maximum comes to 118 Nm at 3 300 r/min. Drive is to the front wheels via a five-speed manual gearbox. The combined-cycle fuel consumption figure is a claimed 6,4 litres/100 km.

Other engines for the range include a 1.6-litre petrol and a 1.6-litre turbodiesel. The latest 207 CC Sport is powered by a turbocharged 110-kW 1.6-litre petrol unit, while the high-performance 207 GTi features a 128 kW version.
