Ingolstadt, Germany - Audi, the luxury car arm of German car giant Volkswagen, said on Friday it was recalling 36 000 of its A8 cars worldwide owing to potential airbag problems.

The units being recalled were A8s built between October 2002 and March 2004, the spokesperson said.
