DETROIT, Michigan – Chrysler has upped its game and released a limited Dodge Dart Mopar edition.
The car will have it’s debut at the February 2013 Chicago auto show with the rest of the limited numbers being built at the Chrysler plant in Belvidere, Illinois.
LIMITED NUMBERS
According to the Detroit News, only 500 lucky worldwide owners will get their hands on this kitted-out Dodge Dart Mopar model. The car is modified with in-house parts from Chrysler’s accessory division.
Under the bonnet there’s a 1.4 MultiAir intercooled turbocharged engine and a manual gearbox. Changes include a tweaked suspension making it sit 7mm closer on the tar, 18" gloss black rims wrapped in 225/40 low-profile tyres, an improved brake system and a performance exhaust. There’s also a fancy “undercar kit” designed to boost downforce and improve aerodynamics. It includes a one-piece boot lid spoiler, a front spoiler and a rear diffuser.
TRADEMARK THEME
And what’s a Mopar car without their trademark black-and-blue paint scheme, badging and themed interior?
Mopar president Pietro Gorlier said: "Our new Mopar '13 Dart will turn heads and stand out from the crowd. For this special, limited-edition vehicle, we specifically kept the driver in mind as we added select Mopar parts and accessories."
