WATCH | Roo raid! Kangaroos cause red flag at Bathurst 12 Hour

Foreign racing drivers and teams competing at the Bathurst 12 Hour were pleasantly surprised to see a group of kangaroos among the GT3 cars during the race on Sunday.

The area around the Mount Panorama motor racing circuit is significantly dry after a prolonged drought in the area and the marsupials found their way on track in search of fresh food to graze on.

However, Kangaroos on track has become a common theme prior to water restrictions. No kangaroos were harmed during the period they were on track and race control immediately red-flagged the race.

The race was won by the number 7 Bentley of Jules Goulon, who survived a late puncture, alongside Maxim Soulet and South Africa's Jordan Pepper to record a first win for the team.
