France - Three weeks, 40 000 bricks and a whole lot of patience...a giant Lego version of the Ford GT racer will be raced at the Le Mans 24 Hours.
A third the size of the real racer, the Lego version will go on display at Circuit de la Sarthe, in France from June 18-19.
Lego tribute
The Lego racer will be shown alongside a model of the classic Ford GT40 - the automaker's iconic race car which scored a historic 1-2-3 at the legendary race track 50 years ago.
The Lego Ford GT uses the #66 race number and details include the same green wing mirrors and screen top visor as the full-sized car.
Ford GT at Le Mans
In 2016, Ford will field two Ford GTs in the FIA World Endurance Championship and two more in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.
For Le Mans, all four cars will come together to compete, in front of an expected crowd of 200 000.
The two WEC Ford GTs will retain their #66 and #67 race numbers, while the IMSA cars become #68 and #69, celebrating Ford victories in 1966, 1967, 1968 and 1969.
