Spain's Ana Carrasco became the first female rider to win a motorcycle world championship this past weekend.
The 21-year-old clinched the World Supersport 300 title by a single point after finishing 13th at the final round of the season in Magny-Cours.

She started the race in 25th place with two of her main rivals Scott Deroue and leader Mika Perez, out in front.

With Carrasco slowly making her way up the grid and Perez in the lead it was during the last lap that swung things in Carrasco's favour.
Another rider Dani Valle managed to pass Deroue with two turns to go and hold on for the win, giving Carrasco the points she needed.
