Knysna - The sun has set on the Jaguar Simola Hillclimb and the 2018 edition didn't fail to impress the 17 000 spectators in attendance over the weekend.

According to the organisers, when the action drew to a close on Sunday, all-new King of the Hill records had been established in each of the three categories.

Andre Bezuidenhout set an all-new time of 35.528 seconds in the King of the Hill Top 10 Shootout. That translates to an average speed of 192.52 km/h, from a standing start!

Reghard Roets earned his second King of the Hill title in a row with another exceptional performance in the mighty street-legal Nissan GT-R. While Wilhelm Baard in his heavily-modified 700kW GT-R earned a class King of the Hill title who set a new record time of 39.463 seconds.

We have five clips that you might have missed from this weekend's action:

1. The all-new BMW M5 was driven up the hill by Rob Gearing.

2. A cool montage of some awesome machinery blasting off the line.

3. Stunt driver Terry Grant nearly having a moment as he drove the Jaguar F-Pace up the hill on two wheels.

4. Martin van Zummeren’s R34 Nissan GT-R is a weapon and it sounds like one too.

5. And finally...Nissan dominated the hillclimb. Here's a gallery and video capturing some of their best moments.
