Cheste, Spain - Jorge Lorenzo broke his own track record on Saturday (November 12) to claim pole position for the season-ending Valencia Moto Grand Prix.

Lorenzo will start from the front of the grid for Sunday's race, which is the former three-time champion's last event before leaving team Yamaha to join rival Ducati.

Improving the record

Lorenzo lowered his own mark at the track in Cheste with a flying lap of 1 minute, 29.401 seconds - 0.6 seconds faster than his own record from 2015.
