Drift City 2018 set to smoke out Cape Town's Grand Parade

All the tyre slaying mayhem that you have become accustomed to will be going down on 24 September 2018.

As always this spectacular display of vehicular mayhem will be hosted on the iconic Grand Parade.

In 2016 the event organisers tried their to give spectators something fresh, unique and exciting, and they have been humbled at the amazing response received since the inauguration.

With the suggestions and feedback from the crowds in 2017, things will be bigger and better this time round with grandstand seating, VIP access, and most importantly, more incredible driving talent.

Organisers say: "It's become a tough act to follow after the success of Drift City 2017, but we won’t let that stop us. We are constantly striving to evolve, improve and show love and respect to the drivers and fans from Cape Town and from outside the Mother City.

"This year around we will be inviting more drivers from all over South Africa to come and compete for the mad cash money prizes only ever offered at Drift City. This will not be a cake walk though."

Drift City prides itself on the fact that it is the only event that has formulated it very own, unique rule set based on a combination of drifting, and gymkhana.

Emphasis is put on speed, smoke and all out entertainment value.

"We are currently busy designing the new track layout which will, as always, have a combination of high speed entries, smoke generating sweepers, mind-bending 'donut' sections and ridiculously technical obstacles for the drivers to navigate through."

Everyone will have to bring their ‘A’ game to this one. In 2016 and 2017 it was a matter of split seconds between the top 3 spots on the podium. This year will be no different.

Tickets are available via Computicket here.
