The Champ car world racing series is similar to that of IndyCar with its field of open-wheel car racing but the efficiency of pit crew members behind the scene keeps everything ticking.

Majority of what viewers see is the car doing absurd speeds around the track, refueling and changing tyres at allotted intervals. The beauty of Champ Car is illustrated by the superior teamwork of its pit crews.

Pit crew members have to be precise as those few seconds when removing and refitting car parts contributes towards shaving crucial seconds spent in the pit.

A particular example of hasty execution took place earlier this year in Formula 1 when Ferrari driver Kimi Raikkonen broke his mechanic's leg following a pit stop during the Bahrain grand prix.

Race analysts work in unison with the driver and informing them of how long they can drive with a tank of fuel or the condition of the tyres for example.
