LISBON, Portugal - Finland's Jari-Matti Latvala won the Rally of Portugal on Sunday – the Volkswagen driver's first World Rally championship victory of the season.

He took the lead on Friday (May 22)and beat French World Rally champion and team mate Sebastien Ogier by 8.2sec with Norwegian Andreas Mikkelsen making it a VW 1-2-3.

OGIER TOPS POWER STAGE

Ogier, who won the power stage of the gravel event for three bonus points, now leads Mikkelsen in the standings with 105 points to the Norwegian's 63 after five rounds.

The next rally will be the Italian round in Sardinia that will start on June 6.
