WATCH: The move that won Hamilton the Italian GP

Lewis Hamilton wrecked Ferrari's party in Monza on Sunday after he won the Italian Grand Prix despite Kimi Raikkonen and Sebastian Vettel qualifying on the front row of the grid.

In what was arguably one of the most exciting races this season, title rivals Hamilton and Vettel collided on the opening lap.

The collision resulted in Vettel spinning his Ferrari and damaging the front wing while Hamilton's car survived undamaged and he went on to win the race and increase his championship lead to 30 points, AFP reported.

As it happened: Italian GP

Vettel finished the race in fourth place after battling his way through the field.

Hamilton and Raikkonen traded punches at the front as both showed exquisite driving skill to gain the advantage in the early stages. But the championship leader went around the outside on lap 45 to end the staunch defence of the Finn and never looked back, taking his fifth win at Monza.
