There are few things as rewarding as showing your boss a clean pair of heels. And that's exactly what Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas got to do when their boss, Toto Wolff, took them on a challenge around Silverstone.
The trio, all part of the Mercedes-AMG F1 team, took to the track in three Mercedes-AMG GT Rs. The challenge was simple: complete a qualifying lap, followed by a six-lap race. After qualy, Hamilton 'qualified' first, followed by Bottas and Wolff. But, Wolff, being the boss, put a spanner in the works and called for a reverse grid. Meaning, he gets to start first!
When the race got underway, it soon became very apparent that Hamilton and Bottas were toying with Wolff, but the trio had the world of fun! Hamilton giggled all the time, Bottas kept going off track, and Wolff… well, he did his best to keep up.
Locally, the AMG GT R retails for R3.3-million and is powered by a bi-turbo 4.0-litre V8 engine that produces 430kW and 700Nm. The rear-wheel driven machine has a top speed of 318km/h and can go from 0-100km/h in 3.6 seconds.
