Sao Paulo, Brazil - McLaren driver Fernando Alonso's failure to post a time during qualifying for the 2015 Brazil Grand Prix on Saturday (November 14) prompted the veteran to setup a deck chair and soak in the Sao Paulo sun.

Mercedes' Nico Rosberg won the race on Sunday, edging team mate Lewis Hamilton to take his second win in a row and fifth of the season.

Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel finished third and Kimi Raikkonen rounded off the top four.

The race was bland with hardly any overtaking by the front-runners.

It was Alonso's bizarre behaviour that prompted the Twittersphere to create memes with the hilarious hashtag #PlacesAlonsoWouldRatherBe
