Cape Town - On Sunday (April 30) Valtteri Bottas, Mercedes' number two driver scored his first ever Formula 1 victory after holding off the advancements of Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel at the Russian GP.
Kimi Raikkonen finished third while Bottas' team mate Lewis Hamilton's over-heating problems relegated the Briton to fourth place.
Fifth Finn to win in F1
The 27-year-old Finn showed a cool head in only his fourth race for the German manufacturer. Bottas is the fifth Finn to win in F1 and spoke to AFP after his victory in Sochi: "It took quite a while, more than 80 races for me, but it's definitely worth the wait."
The Finn showed his elation on the Sochi podium by having a field day with the customary champagne given to the podium finishers. If there's one way to celebrate a major achievement like that, this is the way to do it:
