• Hamilton and Bottas to drive 2018 car
• Mercedes booked two days at Silverstone
• Other drivers also keeping their craft sharp
Mercedes are hosting pre-season tests over two days at Silverstone, with both Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas driving.
The Formula 1 drivers have been out of racing action for over six months while their last time in a Formula 1 car was back in February during the pre-season testing period at the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona.
But with the season now fast approaching and an initial eight-race calendar on the way from the start of July, teams and drivers are conducting their own private tests to help blow off the cobwebs ahead of the new campaign.

The likes of Lando Norris and Alex Albon have been building up their race fitness by heading out on to the track in F3 cars, while other drivers such as George Russell and Kevin Magussen have both said they will use karting as part of their programme.
Dr Helmut Marko has recently confirmed that Max Verstappen has also been out on race tracks in private race cars.
