Silverstone - Lewis Hamilton took full advantage of Mercedes teammate Nico Rosberg's problems by topping the second practice at the British Grand Prix on Friday.
Hamilton dominated the session while Rosberg, who leads his teammate by 11 points in Formula 1, was in the team garage watching his car stripped down for repairs.

Rosberg's absence allowed the Red Bull pair of Australian Daniel Ricciardo and Dutch teenager Max Verstappen to shine as they clocked the second and third best times.
Hamilton was three-tenths of a second quicker than Ricciardo, and six-tenths clear of Verstappen, as all the leading drivers switched to soft tires.
