Bottas dominates, Ricciardo's suffers another DNF... 5 memorable Abu Dhabi moments

Abu Dhabi - Following the season-ending 2017 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, here are 5 memorable moments from the race weekend.

Mercedes lock down

Mercedes dominated during qualifying, with Valtteri Bottas and Lewis Hamilton completing a one-two finish at the race.

Bottas dominated from lap one with Hamilton only relenting during the final laps to finish in second. Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel trailed behind in a distant third.

The season came to a bitter end for Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo who suffered yet another DNF. After experiencing hydraulic problems, the ever-smiling Ricciardo was forced to retire for the 6th time this season.

5. Yet another DNF for Daniel Ricciardo

The Australian was forced to retire on the 21st lap after suffering hydraulic problems.

Really bummed out to end the year like that. It gets you good this racing stuff. The season produced it all. Awesome moments and some not so. But taken a chunk from it to grow as a driver and person. The sun has set ???

4. Renault pips Torro Rosso in Constructors' battle

With Nico Hulkenberg finishing in sixth, Renault moved ahead of Toro Rosso to sixth in the final Constructor' standings.

Nico Hülkenberg, Abu Dhabi GP, Sunday: “It was a bit of a thriller! It was a very interesting first lap, then very interesting again after the stop when I had to get past the Haas, which was super-fast on the straights and obviously I had Checo right behind me waiting to take advantage. We managed to come out on top and it’s a very decent end to the season. Sixth position in the championship is good for us and will be a morale booster for the team over the winter. We had a good package over the second half of the season, but we have had some issues so it is great to finish on a positive result and go into the winter with our chins up.”

Romain Grosjean and Lance Stroll went toe-to-toe on lap 12, with Grosjean coming out on top.
