The controversial Bahrain GP will be staged at night during the 2014 F1 season, according to McLaren team boss Martin Whitmarsh.
LONDON, England - Floodlights have been installed at the venue for the 2013 Bahrain F1 GP, McLaren team boss Martin Whitmarsh has revealed.
It was reported that organisers planned to mark the 10th anniversary of the controversial race by staging it at night during 2014. The deal was reportedly agreed with Bernie Ecclestone at Monza in September.
ANNIVERSARY LIGHTS
Whitmarsh, boss of the partly Bahrain-owned McLaren team, told Reuters in Korea: " I think they are going to call it a twilight race. I have seen pictures of all the floodlights on it. It must be for the tenth anniversary."
The other "twilight" races are held in Abu Dhabi and Singapore.
