Vettel stars in music video

HONG KONG - Formula 1 champion Sebastian Vettel took time off from his Red Bull to get behind the wheel of an Infiniti G37 convertible in a music video with Grammy-winning R&B star Melanie Fiona.

She's a protégé of Jay-Z.

The Red Bull ace will star in the music video of Fiona's latest track ‘Watch Me Work’ from her album ‘The MF Life’.

'LYRICS QUITE FITTING'

The video, set in downtown New York, sees Vettel take on a James Dean-esque role searching for an underground location for Fiona and her band. The 2012 defending champion can be seen behind the wheel of a red Infiniti G37 convertible.

The video (see below) is the latest in the Infiniti's "Inspired Performers" series in which Red Bull drivers Vettel and Mark Webber collaborate with performers.

Vettel commented: “It was a great experience to shoot a music video, certainly very different to what I’m used to. Music is without question an inspiration to many and I’m very proud to have been part of this.

"The lyrics are quite fitting to what we all can do if we put our mind to it.”

Canadian-born Fiona is no stranger to collaborations, having worked with Jay-Z, co-written songs with Rihanna and toured with Kanye West. She is also no stranger to the Infiniti brand - her family has owned vehicles from Nissan's luxury division.

She said: “It’s not often you get the chance to be driven by an F1 World champion. When the opportunity came up to have Vettel driving me in the video I was like, 'yes please!'. This is one of my favourite songs, one I’ve been wanting to put out for a while, so to have him involved was great.”
