Vettel at Merc? Lewis all cool about it

BUDAPEST, Hungary - Mercedes Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton was relaxed and philosophical on Thursday (July 24 2014) amid reports that his racing team has considered approaching four-times F1 champion Sebastian Vettel to join it.

According to the F1 'silly season' rumour mill, the German automaker has sounded-out Vettel about his future and might line hm up alongside fellow German and 2014 championship-leading compatriot Nico Rosberg.

Briton Hamilton, keen to regain some momentum in his duel with Rosberg by winning Sunday's Hungarian GP, brushed aside the speculation.

MERC ON MY CHEST

"I'm not worried about it," he said. "Another German driver? I'm not sure that's something Mercedes would like. I'm here to the end of 2015 so it's not going to be any time soon.

"But it's all normal... Mercedes is the best, so everybody is going to want to drive a Mercedes."

Asked about his immediate future with the team, he told reporters: "We haven't sat down yet but the team knows I would really like to push to continue. It's been made clear the team would like to do the same.

"I've been with Mercedes since I was 13 so I very much feel like I have Mercedes imprinted on my chest. It's very much family for me. You never know what's going to happen in the future, but I can't see myself anywhere else."
