STUTTGART, Germany - Double Formula 1 World champion Sebastian Vettel is to receive Germany's highest sports award, the silver bay laurel leaf.
Vettel's media representative said the driver would be presented with the insignia on February 24 by German president Christian Wulff in Berlin. The Red Bull driver will come to Berlin from pre-season car testing in Barcelona.
Vettel became the youngest F1 champion in 2010 and the youngest to repeat in 2011. Seven-times F1 champion Michael Schumacher is the only other German F1 driver to have won the award.
