LONDON, England - Sauber has signed up female driver Simona de Silvestro and is planning to have her racing in 2015.
The 25-year-old Swiss, an Indycar driver since 2010, has become "an affiliated driver" Sauber announced on February 14.

She will undertake "track testing, simulator training and mental and physical preparation", the goal being "to gain her superlicence and prepare for a race seat in Formula 1 for 2015".
Sauber chief Monisha Kaltenborn, F1's first female team boss, said: "Simona's ambition is to enter Formula 1 in 2015."
Sauber's reserve driver for 2014 will be Giedo van der Garde, while Russian Sergey Sirotkin will be a test driver.
