SAHKIR, Bahrain - The McLaren Formula 1 team is disputing the appointment of Red Bull's new aerodynamics boss.
In 2013 McLaren signed Red Bull's aerodynamics chief Peter Prodromou and his "deputy" Dan Fallows. On Wednesday (April 9) Red Bull said Fallows had become its new "head of aerodynamics".
A spokesperson for Red Bull said: "Previously working as a (aerodynamics) team leader, he left the team for a short time in 2013. He has now returned to begin working in his new role."
DISPUTES REIGN
McLaren, however, is disputing Fallows' re-appointment at McLaren, insisting he has a legally binding contract.
It is believed Red Bull convinced Fallows to stay by offering him departing Prodromou's job and salary.
McLaren team principal Eric Boullier said: "The matter is now in the hands of our lawyers."
Meanwhile, ahead of his new McLaren role, Red Bull said Prodromou had left the team to start "a period of gardening leave".
