Mexico City, Mexico - The Manor Marussia Formula 1 team was stunned on Friday (October 30) by reports that two of the team's key men, founders John Booth and Graeme Lowdon, had resigned.
According to at least two highly-respected sources, both team principal Booth and sporting director Lowdon have grown frustrated with the direction of the perennial back markers under new owner Stephen Fitzpatrick.
Big blow for Marussia
Autosport.com and motorsport.com, two of the sport's leading specialist websites, said the two men had declined to comment when they were approached at the Mexican Grand Prix.
Energy business magnate Fitzpatrick, who founded Ovo, played a prominent role in creating the rescue package that saved Manor from collapsing last winter after going into administration.
Booth and Lowdon also played leading roles in saving the team and bringing in new investors.
